After 4 months of waiting, the race is on! My family and I are scrambling to reduce our belongings to the size of a small uhaul trailer. It is almost time to say good bye to my hometown here in Alaska and hellllooooo to Texas. I cannot wait to enjoy warm sun rays and diverse culture, both of which are unavailable in the AK. One thing I will miss, however, is the nearly 24hr sunlight during the summer!
Whenever I am out of state, people ask me the strangest questions once they find out I am from Alaska.
"Do Alaskans live in igloos?" Why yes! Yes, we do.
"Do Alaskans have pet polar bears?" Of course, and we keep them tethered outside of our 4 bedroom igloos.
"Do I love salmon and do I fish all the time?" I love salmon and of course I fish all the time.
"Does Alaska ever not have snow?" There is snow all year long. In fact, Alaskans have discovered a way to catch thousands of huge salmon every year from the frozen Kenai River.
"Does Alaska ever get dark?" Definitely not.
Do we have internet? Nope. There is no internet availability. Nor is there cable!
.......
But we Alaskans sure enjoy pretending that these stereotypes are true.

I sold my house!
We've been trying to sell our tiny 2 bedroom house since September. Thanks to a weak seller's market, it has been slow going. Now, however, the race is on. We have 2 weeks to sell big stuff, pack all other stuff, and head down south! And down south we will head..... we are in Alaska right now (it is snowing outside as I type!), and we are going to Texas. One extreme to the other, eh?
If you are trying to sell your house, here are two articles I wrote - Appraisal stuff and inspection stuff.

Lost-induced Writers Block
I freelance write for Associated Content from Yahoo...But I keep getting sucked into Lost! How am I supposed to write when Sawyer keeps taking his shirt off?
...the sad part is, I've already watched every season!
This whole Libya thing is frustrating. I'm getting tired of the US helping everyone before the US. It's not like I'm the only one who feels this way. I don't think I've talked to anyone about this who feels that the US should helps other first....So why isn't this changing AT ALL?
Ok. My rant is over. I should get to writing an actual article. My last one was about weird March holidays, week four *here*. I will post about my next one when I finally get over this Lost-induced writers block.

Eating Healthy!
I've decided to start my mornings with a smoothie instead of my norm - cereal. Thanks to knee problems and having a couple of kids, weight loss is hard! I've been doing great the past couple of days, but I'm hoping to hold out for a LONG time. I've discovered how to include veggies in pancakes (hehe). If you want to read about that, click HERE.
As I am writing this, I hear my son walk out of his bedroom. I glance over and see that he is nakie.....Oh boys....
